What you should do is mix them, so put in DW7 and create a save file for it(unless you already have one then you don't need to do this), then put in DW7XL and choose to mix/transfer the data from DW7 to XL. Side note: Who thought setting it up like this was a good idea?! Short version: Should I just put in the base game disc and go from there or put in the extreme legends version, then do the disc swap? Story mode as I understand it is in the base game and I figure that's where I should start, but I think I can put in extreme legends then hit an option that lets me put in the base game disc and then play the content from the base game? Is there any difference between them when you do that? Basically I assumed it was like your standard complete or GOTY edition with all the dlc and maybe some new stuff thrown in.Īnyway, the base game was only 10 bucks at gamestop so went ahead and got it but I'm a bit confused about where I should start. But it seems I made the mistake of getting the extreme legends version thinking it had everything the original version did just with more stuff.
So after playing my friends copy of Hyrule Warriors, I decided to try some of the other Musuo games and since they all seem to be pretty much stand alone I went with DW7 as it was the most recent that I could play (8 has a bad PC port so I'd want to play it on PS4 which I don't have yet).
